Speech Language Pathologist
Valerie West earned both her bachelor's and master's degree at Northern Arizona University. Valerie is currently employed at Flagstaff Unified School District and provides services through Dynamic Interventions. Valerie has served in many capacities throughout her career. She has provided services for preschool through high school students in self-contained and specialized programs and through traditional, pull-out therapy. Valerie has provided services in home health (post-acute care), habilitation centers and home-based interventions for individuals with developmental disorders in residential facilities and private home settings. Valerie especially enjoys working in the fields of Assistive Technology and Augmentative & Alternative Communication. She has a graduate certificate in Assistive Technology from NAU's Institute of Human Development. Valerie has conducted evaluations and provided training as part of an Assistive Technology Team, co-created Project MATTERS and serves as a district STAR (Strategies for Teaching Based on Autism Research) Media Center Support Coordinator. Valerie is married and the proud mother of a son, twin daughters and two adorable dogs. When not traveling for her kid’s athletics, she enjoys playing soccer, softball and taking advantage of Flagstaff’s beautiful weather by hiking, camping and traveling throughout Northern Arizona.
